 Ever been to a hot air balloon festival? You won't want to miss the Annual Seven Lakes State Park Balloon Race on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27, weather permitting, in the Fenton/Holly area. Balloons will be launched at 7 p.m., as the winds allow, on both days. Other activities during the festival include tethered balloon rides, balloon, swimming, boating, fishing, camping, picnic areas, music, food, canoes, paddle boats, biking, contests, and more. For more railroad fun and history, it's a short drive to the Michigan Railroad History Museum in Durand. How important were railroads to Michigan in the early 1900's? Very! At Durand Union Station during its peak, 42 passenger trains, 22 mail trains, and 78 freight trains passed through the Station each day!  Just west of Frankenmuth, in Bridgeport, you'll find the world's largest quarter-size railroad at Junction Valley Railroad.
